Q: When is Dawg Days: Jumpstart?
A: Dawg Days: Jumpstart will run from Sunday, July 5th to Thursday, August 13th, 2020. Students will have classes, co-curricular activities, and field trips Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM for the duration of the program. Residential students (those living on campus) will also participate in evening activities.

Q: How do I apply for Dawg Days: Jumpstart?
A: An application for the program is available online. Please visit our homepage!

Q: What is the deadline to apply?
A: The deadline to apply for Dawg Days: Jumpstart is June 1st. It is highly recommended that students apply early to ensure a space in the program. Space is limited to 20 spots for MATH 104, MATH106, MATH150, MATH150, MATH151. Space is limited to 44 spots for ENGL100, and 20 spots for general education courses.

Q: When will I be notified if I have been accepted for the program?
A: You will receive an email notification regarding your application by late April. If you are accepted, you will be asked to respond to this e-mail, confirming your course selection(s) and acceptance of the offer. More information for admitted students will be forthcoming after you accept your admission.

Q: Will I be able to live on campus during the Dawg Days: Jumpstart?
A: Yes, Housing will be offered to students during Dawg Days: Jumpstart if they wish to live on campus during the program. This is not a requirement for participation in the program, but an option for those who would like to take advantage of this convenience. It is also highly recommended if possible, especially for those taking more than one track. Please visit our Logistics page for more information about housing during the summer.

Q: What types of activities or programs are included in Dawg Days: Jumpstart?
A: We are excited to offer you a variety of trips and events to get to know other new students and become more familiar with the Baltimore area. Here are a few of the possibilities:

  • Campus tour and scavenger hunt
  • Community service project
  • Entertainment at Game Room in Commons
  • Low-ropes team-building course
  • Tours of Baltimore neighborhoods and communities
  • On-campus movie nights
  • Student-suggested activities
